Claims Process (How to file a claim)

You buy insurance to protect you against losses caused by accidents and natural disasters. If you have a loss, certain procedures must be followed in order to make sure your claim is processed and settled efficiently. Those procedures include:

  • Contact Takagi & Associates as soon as reasonably possible in order to begin the claims process.

  • Protect your property/vehicle from further damage.
  • Contact Police if you were in a car accident or victim of a robbery or other crime.
  • Review your policy for specific coverage information.
  • Takagi & Associates Claims staff will advise on property repair or placement procedures.

Required Documentation: The following documents are required to complete your claims process:

  • Police Report
  • Related Receipts
          Storage Receipts
          Repairs needed to prevent further damage or damage
           to property that wasn’t initially damaged.
          Contracts for temporary housing or office location

Auto Damage

If your car is drivable, you can choose one of Takagi & Associatesí Preferred Service Providers.

If your car is not drivable, we will give you instructions about what to do when you report your claim.

  Once you have reported your damage, a claim representative will contact you as soon as possible.
  • Damage to your vehicle will be assessed and you will receive a detailed estimate of the damage and cost of repairs.
  • You have the right to choose the repair facility that will repair your vehicle.
  • If you prefer, we can help you find repair facilities in your area.
  • Only you can authorize repairs to your vehicle.
  • Your repair facility should contact us directly if there are questions about the estimate.
Roadside Assistance

If you accidentally lock your keys in your car, run out of gas, have a flat tire or need to be towed, what you need is fast, reliable emergency roadside assistance. Each auto insurance customer is covered for a maximum of $50 for each roadside service claim.

If you find yourself in need of roadside assistance, please call your favorite emergency roadside service and bring your receipt for services to Takagi & Associatesí offices in Tumon for your reimbursement.

Catastrophe Claims
  • Contact Takagi & Associates as soon as reasonably possible in order to start the claims process.
  • Assess your Damage: You should review your policy for specific coverage; however after a disaster as occurred, you should:
    • Look at your damage and determine if there are any safety risks. If safe, have temporary repairs made to prevent further damage. Keep an accurate record of your repair costs.
    • Obtain repair estimates from contractors experienced in disaster repair work. Major damage may require contractor/engineer inspections.
Some repairs may not be covered unless you have purchased a particular kind of coverage.
